My name is Michael Lynn. I'm resident technology support for Parasol Alliance based out of Champaign, Illinois. And today I'll be talking about Apple AI or Apple Intelligence, the many different uses of it and how it can be utilized in your everyday life. Before we get started, I wanted to mention that Apple Intelligence is only avAIlable for Apple devices.

So if you have an iPhone, an iPad, or a MacBook, you will be able to utilize this. And it is free of charge, but you do need an Apple device to use it. [00:01:00] So we'll go to the next slide. Apple AI. So what are the requirements for it? It's located under settings and there'll be a specific section called Apple Intelligence.

And it does require the new iOS 26 to use. So make sure you have that before anything else, and then we'll be able to take a look at it and see what's going on. So besides using Siri, this is an AI feature that allows you to do a lot of different things on your phone, and we'll get into that in a moment here.

Apple AI can also be used in partnership with ChatGPT. So if you'd like a little bit more advanced AI, you can use it in your settings. There's an option to add a chat GPT subscription or log in and it'll utilize that as well. So the first example of this Apple AI that'll show is this here on the right side.

So it looks like that symbol on the right that is in color. The kind of star. [00:02:00] And it also will show it right above the text where it has a star with a little pencil in it. That'll be the Apple AI and you can do a lot of different things with it. So once you click on that, you'll be able to, let's say with your text, you can proofread, rewrite.

You can rewrite your wording. Maybe it's a paragraph to an employer or to just a friend. You can change it to either, let's say, friendly, professional, concise. You can use this AI to help you write better, you know, make letters. Whatever the case is, you can use it. And as you can see below, you can also use it to summarize other people's texts or letters or emails, whatever the case is.

So you can use it just for a summary. Just for key points, a list and if you have this AI turned on, it will start to summarize some of your text messages and emails as well, so you can get an idea of what that looks like and how you might utilize it. But agAIn, this can all be used on an Apple [00:03:00] device.

Whenever you want to, you'll highlight that text. So let's say if it's an email, you'll highlight the email. Then you'll see that little symbol right next to where it says, describe your change in the picture. You'll click on that and then you'll get those different options. If you know you want this to be rewritten, if you want a summary, whatever you'd like the AI to do, it can be there for you and it can do it.

But besides this, Apple AI has a lot of different ways to use it as well, just besides the writing tools. A couple of the other ones are, something I mentioned before is those AI summaries where those emails or texts will give you a summary of what it was sAId. Uh, they also have priority notifications.

So for example, if you go in your email, you have, let's say 30 emails. At the very top, AI will prioritize maybe the most important ones or the ones that it thinks are most important. So maybe you have, out of those 30 emails, 20 of them are, uh, promotional things, maybe spam stuff, [00:04:00] things that aren't too important, and then a couple of those other emails are maybe more important, maybe about a job, maybe about family, something like that where it's not, something that's just to be thrown to the side.

These priority notifications will be shown at the very top to notify you, you know, this is some of the things that maybe you wanna look at. Over those marketing emails as well as if, let's say you order something online and you get an email about that, it'll most likely put that as a priority notification as well at the top, and this will all be shown in your email.

So you would have to have that Apple MAIl app and have your email signed in with it, but you would still be able to utilize that Apple AI in there. Another feature that a lot of people like is something called image generation. Uh, the AI can make photos and edit photos with anything you have in your library.

So for example, if you have a photo where maybe there's something blocking a person's face, maybe there's some things in the background you don't want there, you can use this Apple [00:05:00] AI to remove those images, edit the photo any way you'd like, and even create images completely independent of that.

So if you wanna just create an image about a certAIn topic idea, whatever the case is, just for fun, Apple AI has that ability too. There's a lot of other features with Apple AI. So what I'll do is I'm gonna show everyone a video of what it looks like so everyone can get a better idea of the visualization of how to use this Apple Intelligence

Speaker: picture this. You're on a road trip and you capture an incredible photo of your friend only to realize there's a photo bombing cone trying to steal the show. Let's get it out of there. With Apple Intelligence, you can use the photo cleanup tool to remove unwanted objects. Just tap the edit button, press cleanup, and then brush, circle, or tap what needs to go, and just like that road trip magic restored

g Moji. It's [00:06:00] Friday night, the world is alive with possibilities and you are absolutely not leaving the couch. With Apple intelligence, you can make a gem emoji. So now whatever emoji you can imagine, you can create. Just pull up the emoji keyboard, tap the big G emoji button, describe what you wanna see.

Press presto with gbo G. You'll always have the perfect reply.

Let's make something with Image Playground. It's an app which gives you a quick way to dream up fun visuals anytime you like. Say it's your kid's birthday party, open the playground app, hit the plus button. Then you can describe an image or start with a person. From there, you can add a theme like, birth.

What kind of birthday party? It could be anything. Astronaut party. [00:07:00] Maybe a superhero party got a different idea. Just type it in. And presto, it's dinosaur party time. When you're ready to create, tap into image playground. Next up, male. Summarize. Okay, it's Monday morning and you're sifting through your emails.

When, oh wow. Another really long email update from the school and principal Mary is really on a roll. It just keeps going. No worries. Thanks to Apple Intelligence. You can get the gist now and come back to it later. Just scroll to the top and taps here where it says summarized ta-da. Just the highlights.

Writing tools rewrite. Maybe it's late, you're [00:08:00] tired and a little bit stressed, and the email you're writing has a certAIn all caps energy. Okay, let's just breathe and count to four. With Apple Intelligence, you can use writing tools to help you nAIl the perfect tone. Just tap this little symbol here.

Select friendly. See, now we're all friends agAIn. Doesn't that feel better? And now writing tools. With chat, GPT, let's say you wanna get into shape. So you open up a writing app like notes to outline fitness plan. But where to begin? Simply tap this symbol here to bring up writing. Scroll down to compose.

Give it a few detAIls like gym workout, and how much time you can put in and when you'd like to be ready [00:09:00] a few seconds later. And boom, you've got a custom workout schedule. Writing tools with chat t PT means help with anything's. Just to tap away,

let's check out visual intelligence. Visual Intelligence builds on Apple Intelligence and uses your camera. Say you come across a poster for a comedy show. Hey, you love to laugh, but there are a lot of detAIls to remember. Date, time, address, website. No worries. Just activate visual intelligence. Then point your camera at the poster and let Apple Intelligence do the rest.

You can add all the detAIls to your calendar with a quick tab. And easy as that. Everything you need, no stress, all laughs. Visual intelligence with chat GPT, you can also use visual intelligence to access chat. GPT. Like maybe you're on dinner duty tonight and you've got no [00:10:00] idea. It'd be great if you could make something delicious out of this, and back.

Visual intelligence to the rescue. Point your camera and either press the camera control or action button on the side. Tap, ask, and then type in your request. And voila. Now you can literally ask questions with your camera. Imagine what else it can do. So that's Apple Intelligence, designed to help you get your photos fixed.

Emojis, gen Moji, imagination unleashed male. Simplified tone, just right words worked out visual intelligence unlocked and that's why life is just easier with Apple Intelligence.

Michael: Alright, so the video was shown everything that Apple Intelligence or AI will be using. So just to go over kind of what it did at the end of the video too. Photo cleanup, edits all those photos for you. [00:11:00] The emoji creation lets you make your own emojis. Image playground creates AI images for you out of, you know, anything you can think of.

AI summaries will summarize any of those messages or emails you have. The writing tools can change that writing style to make it more friendly if it needs to be for work. Whatever the case is, they have that for you. The camera AI tools can create events or notes just from looking at a picture or anything with your camera.

And the AI questions and answers will help you figure out kind of anything you need. So like in the video where the person didn't know what to cook for dinner, he showed the AI what he had in the fridge and it gave him some options on what to cook. So you can kind of use that in any aspect of your life that you can think of and have Apple Intelligence help you with it.
